Honda Fit

The Honda Fit is a five-door hatchback subcompact car manufactured by the Honda Motor Company of Japan. It was first introduced in June 2001 and is now in its second generation. The Fit shares Honda's Global Small Car Platform with the City/Fit Aria, Airwave/Partner, Mobilio, Mobilio Spike, Freed and Freed Spike.
The Honda Fit is a super-metro champion. For 2011 the subcompact five-door hatchback offers exceptional space efficiency and fuel economy in an affordable and stylish package. The Fit is one of the most fun small cars in its class to drive. The hatchback has already won a multitude of awards that prove the vehicle's dominance.
This is the 2010 Honda Fit, the five-door fuel-efficient and fun-to-drive small sporty car, which truly takes after its name and could “fit anything.” It’s interesting how it’s compact on the outside and yet, it’s incredibly spacious inside. Using multifunctional interior and high levels of refinement, the car offers multiple seating and cargo-carrying configurations. For excellent outward visibility, the exterior design has a “super-forward aero-form” that contributes to its aggressive, sporty stance. The 1.5-liter, i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine produces 117 horsepower at 6,600 rpm and 106 lb-ft. of torque at 4,800 rpm. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard but a 5-speed automatic transmission is available too.
The Honda Fit has established itself as a viable platform for tuners in Japan and with the apparently minimal amount of love being heaped upon the new Civic Type-R, aftermarket firms are focusing more attention on the Civic's younger brother.
Elegant Silver Honda Fit Concept
The packaging of the new Fit is based on Honda's innovative center tank layout. with a longer wheelbase and wider track for enhanced interior space and practicality, combined with the small-car maneuverability of a 4.7-meter minimum turning radius. The front pillar has been moved forward to create a spacious interior, while the exterior boasts exhilarating styling. An ingenious interior layout helped create a comfortable cabin with space equivalent to a mid-sized sedan. The new Honda Fit's practicality has also been enhanced with four-mode "Ultra Seat" and three-mode "Ultra Luggage" storage spaces.
The new Honda Fit's dynamic performance is made possible by a newly developed 1.3-liter i-VTHC engine that delivers maximum output of 73kW (100 PS). Combined with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and newly developed torque converter, the engine provides enjoyable driving and class-leading 24 km/l fuel economy. The body rigidity and crash safety performance were also enhanced while maintaining weight equivalent to the previous model. Moreover, the newly designed chassis also helps achieve superior comfort and steady handling.
Newly added to the Honda Fit lineup is a Road Sailing (RS) version which highlights a sportier and sophisticated character with a newly developed 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine and a specially designed suspension with enhanced styling and a richer feel.
